If you have a good offence, the enemy will have less to attack you with in the end.

Another similar term use in most military organizations is "bring the fight to them", meaning don't go on the defensive, attack them as soon as possible, don't give them time to organise against you.

This theory is used for all things, not just battles.

The best defense is a good offense. Always make the enemy fight on your terms.

Offensive oriented fighters will win most of the time.

Great thread man. This are the kind of topics that we need here. Productive.

Its New Year... stop the hate threads.

Mao Zedong opined that "the only real defense is active defense", meaning defense for the purpose of counter-attacking and taking the offensive.

Often success rests on destroying the enemy's ability to attack. In reference to fighting *********s, Matthew Levitt opines, "It’s important to pre-emptively strike at those who intend to do us harm."

The principle is echoed in the writings of Machiavelli and Sun Tzu.

Some martial arts emphasise attack over defence. Wing Chun, for example, is a style of Kung Fu which uses the maxim: "The hand which strikes, also blocks."

Therefore, the best defense is offense. This is the time honored principle in any kind of conflict.

    Happy New Year

great defensive fighters are usually great counter punchers, and i know when im just countering life is alot easier, so i'd favour the defensive fighter

Hmmm I think offense in the end. There is only so much you can defend.

Both if the art of each style is imposed perfectly/successfully on their opponent.
