Comments Thread For: CompuBox at Ringside: Bernard Hopkins vs Jean Pascal

On paper, the fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal and 45-year-old challenger Bernard Hopkins appeared to be a classic "pass the torch" fight in which an aspiring star showcases his wares against an aging legend before a passionate partisan crowd. Then guys like Joe Calzaghe would literally be the greatest fighter ever. He landed way more than BHop, landed the most 'punches' ever on BHop and if going by that, he would have won every round bar the first and second by total domination........But that didn't happen at all did it?

i think the punch averages speak volumes. they coincide with the tempo of the fight and with where and who was making the fight happen.

If landed sure, I assume you don't just mean output.

Matter of fact he dominated Hopkins so much that Bernard had to fake low blows to get a break.
