Comments Thread For: Maccarinelli on Recent KO Loss, 'No Comment' on Future

Enzo Maccarinelli’s world came apart in September when he found himself on the wrong end of a sickening seventh round KO to Alexander Frenkel at the LG Arena, Birmingham. ‘Big Mac’ lost his EBU title and the chance of a potential world title rematch with Denis Lebedev. The brutal KO, made that much worse by referee Erkki Meronen allowing a clearly dazed Maccarinelli to come out for more, led many to question whether Enzo should ever return to the ring.

Has Enzo ever been losing a fight up to the point he got KO'd.

He's chinny - but that must be tough to take.

    He was beating Frenkel.

He should retire before he gets seriously hurt in the ring.

That referee should have been banned after letting him carry on after the first knockdown.

I could have put him away with one punch after that for God's sake. The man was on stilts.

Totally agree. The second one was just sickening.

The look on Enzo when approaching Frenkel from the KD was an awful site, almost like he knew he was a walking dead man.

To be doing fairly well then suffering another brutal KO must be devastating for Enzo.

I like Enzo a lot, actually. He's got bucket loads of heart and power and I always rooted for him.

But look at the size of his chin

He's quite literally chinny. His head is like 80% chin.

That was one of the worst refereeing decisions i've ever seen.

Enzo really needs to retire now because his loses are just getting more brutal the more he fights. I can only see him being KO'd again at some point, is it really worth it? No. Retire Enzo.

Agreed, the sports been rough to him. He's also too big to be a LHW, and too small really compared to some CW's. He walks around not much above 200 I heard.

Worse still as you say, he has a huge chin as a target, but one which is also weak, in one of the most brutal hitting divisions with KO's everywhere.
