  • Comments Thread For: Tavoris Cloud Domintes Zuniga, But Couldn't Finish Him

At the American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida, IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (22-0, 18KOs) won a lopsided unanimous twelve round decision over Fulgencio Zuniga (24-5, 21KOs). Cloud got in some good work, but it didn't look to good that he couldn't stop a fighter who spent nearly his entire career in lower weight divisions and was knocked out a few times in the past.

I thought Glen Johnson beat Cloud anyway and got ripped off by the judges. I don't think Cloud will do anything spectacular.

Isn't Pavlik the only guy to knock out Zuniga with a head shot? But even then, it was a premature stoppage wasn't it? And Zuniga knocked Pavlik down. Bute KOd Zuniga with a body shot like he did to Andrade didn't he?

Cloud wasted a lot of energy in the first half trying to finish Zuniga off. He fought at a measured pace for the remaining six. Zuniga never stopped fighting and took Cloud's shots well.

Fighters now a days I think get tired too easily. They are not as hungry and don't fight often enough.

At this stage, Hopkins lack of work rate won't allow him to beat Tavoris. I also think Tavoris beats Pascal. Chad Dawson on the other hand is too good of a boxer for Tavoris to beat.
