Its always been like that, how have you only figured that out now, the only reason it happened was because hardcore fans and media wouldn't let it go, and a lot of the haters thought he'd get knocked out. To be honest im still surprised he took it, financially it wasn't worth it for him, he would have made a bigger pay day fighting someone else in the UK who wasn't as dangerous like john murray in front of 20k fans rather than 4k. He could have waited for the bradley-alexander winner.

Fair play to him, he wanted to shut the critics up and prove something to himself, it will be better for his legacy this way. Khan needs another big name fighter that the us market can identify with now, like marquez or judah, although both are past their best, they have both been in with the best and will boost his popularity much further than the maidana win with the casual fan

I don't believe that,I don't think there is a boxing fan alive that wouldn't wanna see Maidana vs every single other top fighter at 140!!But if someone says that, they need to get their head checked!!

He may be popular with dedicated boxing fans and can probably bring in more money than before this past fight with Khan, but he's still a risky opponent for any fighter who actually has a possibility of being a top fighter in their division. If you beat him you won't get much credit for it, but if you lose it'll likely be by a nasty KO and people will give the fighter **** for it and will likely hurt his career. So even though he may be able to bring in more money than he could in the past, it's probably still not worth it for most of the top fighters to actually fight this guy voluntarily.

The only reason the fight happened is because Maidana was a mandatory and Khan has a weak chin. So Khan had to get rid of his mandatory to keep his strap and prove the haters wrong about his chin.

However, i do feel that Maidana's performance against Khan got him so decent recognition in the US now so people know what he's about. I don't think he's as low reward as he was before, but certainly nobody is going to be calling him out anytime soon because you won't get anything from facing him. Basically Maidana needs to work his way to more mandatory shots in order to progress further in his career.

HBO said they enjoyed the fight and want both back.

Maidana will get a payday for his exciting style.

Infact, if round 10 didn't happen, Khan may have won that and the 11th. Khan won rounds 8 and 9, and looked like he had a second wind, until that shot. Then he had to run, hold, shell up, and hit a few flurries.

I gave the 11th a draw because Maidana was winded and Khan had a few good flurries and a ncie uppercut.

So, if round 10 didn't happen, then it wouldn't be so close, but then if round 1 didn't happen, maybe Maidana would have had more early on, although Khan is a fast starter.

Yea, the guy got knocked down three times in two rounds from some hard shots. Yet the guy still got up. His D is almost nonexistent but he makes up for it with massive huevos.

Although i was rooting for Khan, i like Maidana..even more so after that fight. He really is one of the top fighters in that division and deserves to be in the mix of good fights at the top of the division.

I think hes going to be avoided though, big puncher..good chin..just keeps coming at you. Alot of fighters dont/wont want to face him, so credit for Khan for doing so.

His performances have earned him the right for the big fights, but will he get them ?...im not sure, but i hope so.
