The Golzka paper reports that a date has finally been set down for the light heavyweight unification between champions Beibut Shumenov (10-1, 6KOs) and Jürgen Bräehmer (36-2, 29KOs). The fight will happen on January 8 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. Both the WBA [Shumenov] and the WBO [Bräehmer] have approved the fight to go forward. Golzka reports that Bräehmer's past legal troubles could be the reason the unification did come over to the United States and instead went to Shumenov's home country.

Should be a really exciting fight because they both like to throw lots of punches. Can't believe Braehmer is leaving the friendly confines of Germany. Good for him

I'd like to see Shumenov win since's he's more willing to fight in the states and a fight between him and Cloud would be fireworks.
