Generally speaking, it's either African, European, Asian and Indian ( as in India not "Indian" coined by Pilgrims on the Native Americans ). People get Nationality (Puerto Rican, Domincan etc) confused with ancestry or "race" if you will. It's a very common issue, especially in NYC. Some people should just read a book or trace their heritage as the info is readily available.

Latinos are mixed, forget about all of our common ancestors being black, the Spaniards didn't bring Spanish woman to the Americas. They had children with the Indians inhabiting the area, after that the slave trade brought blacks and even more interracial breeding took place.
