  • Well Bernard, the top black fighter and his black trainer are too busy assaulting women, attacking security guards, running from the IRS, and trying to buy their way out of jail...and they're ALL afraid of turning the Mexecutioner into the African Assassin

That was a great win for Jones, even though he struggled. People always wanted to see him in tough and see if he could come out on top, and he did. Also, Hopkins is an incredibly slick fighter, probably one of the craftiest fighters between 160-175 in the last 20 years. He was a killer in his prime and could brawl, but he was an amazing counter puncher. Even Tarver has some decent ring smarts, though I don't think he's on the same level as either Jones or Hopkins.

The thing is, Pac fights mostly guys that rely on toughness and athleticism over real skill. You don't see Pac in with too many guys that can move or have great defensive skills. The last two were probably Morales and Marquez. Morales gave him a lot of trouble the first time around, and Marquez arguably beat him twice, though they were incredibly close fights. If Pac has any kind of weakness, it's guys that are smart in the ring and fundamentally sound - slick fighters.
They know this but to admit this goes against the laws of *******ology.

They don't put Pac in with slick fighters because he has trouble with them (Marquez). They put Pac in with action fighters who are there to be hit, and guys that are slow on their feet.

If this was about economics, like they say, then why the hell did he fight David Diaz and Joshua Clottey? This is all about who Pac can look best against in the ring. They could have Pac fight a homeless man, and it would still make millions.
        In a nutshell.

          • why are people evern seriously discussing this?

hopkins is an old man with half his teeth and 10 remaining braincells, if he believes african american fighters possess magical combat traits the best response is to sadly pat him on the head and chuckle

            • Manny not facing top black fighters

you know there's always gonna be one or two top fighters that the current hot fighter of the day hasn't faced. For instance flyd never faced Kostya Tzu at 140lbs and a handful of good welterweights who were beating each other up. In the case of Manny, i feel he should have waited to fight Nate Campbell, the recognized light weight champ after he beat Juan Diaz. After that ther're weren't many top black fighters out there anyway besides Paul Williams maybe.

                  • Hopkins is just pushing for his good friend shane mosley to get a fight with pacquiao, that's all, just like how hopkins got shane the fight with floyd.

                    • Since so many boxing fans want to act dumb I'll break it down.

Pacquiao is being compared to legends of the sport like Ali, Duran and Sugar Ray Robinson.

Those are heavy compliments to give to any boxer. With that high praise comes higher expectations.

When Bernard speaks about slick black fighters; he's talking about fighters like Sweetpea Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones, Bernard himself, Ali, Ray Leonard, Mike Mccallum, Toney, Too Sharp Mark Johnson, etc...

Those above listed names are the epitome of GREAT SLICK AFRICAN AMERICAN BOXERS.

If Pac is supposed to be top 10 all time (or whatever the general public is saying) then he should have at least a victory over a slick, agile, cagy and intelligent fighter (most of those tend to be african americans).

The only option Pac has is Floyd Mayweather.

People are starting to get fed up of Pac fighting slow, plodding, defenseless punching bags (clottey, cotto, marg, hatton).

Lets see how great Pac looks against guys like Floyd, Martinez, Guzman, etc...

It just feels like Pac is trying to fight the least threatening fighters while claiming to have this outstanding career.
