  • Comments Thread For: Mormeck vs Ibragimov in Play For December 2 in Paris

BoxingScene.com/Netboxe.com has learned that Jean-Marc Mormeck (35-4, 22KOs) will now face Uzbek Timur Ibragimov (30-2, 16KOs), currently ranked seventh in the WBA and holder of the WBA's NABA (North American Boxing Association) belt. This is none other than the cousin of former champion WBO heavyweight Sultan Ibragimov. The fight is scheduled December 2 at the Halle Carpentier in Paris, France. As previously reported on BoxingScene, Mormeck was scheduled to fight former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement on several of the financial points.

Ibragimov will likely be robbed like Oquendo was.

He needs to KO Mormeck rather than leave it in the hands of the partisan judges. But although Timur is a skillful boxer, he's not a big puncher.

      I thought Sultan unretired.

      Boxing is dead.

Cousins? The Ibragimov's aren't even the same nationality let alone related. Timur is the B fighter in this one>

Mormeck is way past it he isn’t even really a pressure fighter anymore and doesn’t throw combinations like he used to, I don’t really see him having a future as a top heavyweight but he maybe able to get a big fight off the back of his name. I still like Mormeck though maybe just because he was in some awesome cruiserweight fights.

I guess he thinks he can KO Mormeck, because in France that's the only way he's going to win. Even if he wins a wide decision he'll be robbed ala Fres Oquendo.
