Comments Thread For: Paul Briggs Threatens To Sue Over $75K Green Fight Fine

Cruiserweight Paul Briggs is threatening to sue over the $75,000 fine that was issued by the Western Australian Professional Sports Commission, after investigating Briggs' 29-second knockout loss to Danny Green, which took place on July 21 in Perth. The fine was issued after it was determined that Briggs deceived doctors by not disclosing that he was plagued with neuological health issues. As previously reported, Green was cleared of any wrongdoing.

I usually don't accuse people taking a dive but in this case I have to say I'm 99.9% sure Paul Briggs took a dive...the only question is WHY??????

something isnt right, because having watch the video, the whole thing looked like a scam..........

i don't know and don't know why, but, something is a miss, and i have to say, i wouldn't be surprised if green's people didn't have a hand in all of this, just because of the outcome.......... briggs, looked like sheit and it looked like he did take a dive, but i dont think he did it on his own accord, i think he was propositioned before the fight, solely by the outcome and the scapegoat type behavior involved in this, i dunno, im just saying this was the first initial organic thought after reading this news.........

Billy Hussain is right. Thin air carries murderous power early on in fights. It was too good for him....

Which one is it Briggs, are you such a bum that you get knocked out in the first round from a grazing jab, or did you take a dive?

Neither option is good for him.

I read somewhere that he was having marital problems and needed money. But more relevantly, he apparently had neurological impairment which is likely why the fight wasn't commissioned in New South Wales and they had to move it to Perth.

Although I think he dived, the fight shouldn't have been commissioned in the first place, Green should man up and face some real opposition and Briggs should never fight again for one of two reasons.

              1) He took a dive or...
              2) If that punch did somehow genuinely knock him out and he can't take a slightly grazing punch like that then what is he doing in the ring anyway.

The fine is deserved and he can't argue with that.

Paul Briggs wasn't even grazed that much, his head didn't move back or anything from this so called glancing shot. If a shot like that KO'd him then he should be in a hospital right now still being checked out. Did Adamek really beat Briggs to a pulp that even one of us could step in the ring and put up a better fight than a professional boxer?
