  • Comments Thread For: Fighter Who Knocked Pacquiao Out, Making a Comeback

Back in 1996, Filipino boxer Rustico Torrecampo (14-8, 5KOs) knocked out Manny Pacquiao [then 11-0] in three rounds. The fight took place at 111-pounds and it was Pacquiao's first career loss. Torrecampo could have never predicted that one day Pacquiao would rise all the way to junior middleweight and win seven divisional titles along the way.

A dangerous move for him, he is too old and inactive for so long.

if i was torrecampo, i would write a book while manny is still hot.

just put pacman on the cover and the title of the book should be "the day when i defeated a legend".

forget about fighting, there are other ways to capitalize on pac's popularity.

"Why would I fight Poochie when I can fight his conqueror....why fight the loser? Imagine if I'd fought Luiz Collazo instead of Ricky Hatton? Imagine if I'd fought Ricardo Mayorga instead of Oscar....I just want to fight the best Torrecampo knocked out poochie and I'm gonna knock out Rustico and prove I'm the better fighter.....there's always gonna be haters, people will always hate, people say "ohhh fight a tough Ricky Hatton" and I do and "he's a club fighter"....then it's "face a legit p4p ranked opponent" and I do and it's "ohh but he's a super featherweight" then it's "oh fight a legit welterweight" and I do and it's "oh he's too old"...you can't please the haters"
