You can't compare this to Floyd's shutouts, because Floyd hasn't fought anyone nearly as bad as Briggs. Briggs has a great chin, and he has a lot of heart. That's it. The Briggs Vitali fought is nowhere in the league of the Briggs Lewis fought, even though Briggs was never an elite guy.

Finally a sensible post. You prob would have had to wager $1,000,000 just to make 20K on Vitali.......

are you insane? baldo, corely, & brusels are all better then the briggs that vitali just beat. corely recently almost beat maidana....& brusels gave prospect "mike jones" a good tough fight.

thats not the point though. mayweather gets no credit for these fights. i don't even give him too much credit for them (although corely is a beast at 140 & almost beat maidana) klit fans are saying vitali deserves tons of credit for beating past prime fat briggs. this is why a lot of people don't like klit fans. the fight was a mismatch from the very start. mayweather doesn't get credit for the guys you named.......but yet klit fans are ATTEMPTING to praise vitali because he went 12 rounds with a fat old briggs?

Because of the calibre of opponent. What was Vitali paying for the win????? $1.08 or was it even less than that????

Mayweather completely dominates good opponents. He may go in favourite also, but the oddsmakers all gave Corrales, Hatton, ODLH, SSM and the like a good chance.

Vitali fighting and dominating Briggs is the equivalent of Mayweather fighting and dominating a fringe contender at 147 like Matt Hatton, or an almost shot fighter who used to be servicable like Ndou. That's not what Floyd does.....he dominates guys in the top 10 P4P lists, champions and elite opponents.

lmao no they arent.not 1 of those guys has won 1 meaningful fight after mayweather, and i cant think of any corley or brusels won before floyd.

your talking as if vitali isnt past his prime lol.his body has been through much worse than briggs has.briggs was a solid fight.nothing more or less.haye, valuev and povetkin wont fight him so there really wasnt anybody else worthwhile.just sit back, stop complaining and enjoy a good beatdown

I've watched the fight about 20 times already. i have analyzed EVERY single detail there is. I'm not a guy who chats out of my a** without actually studding the film. POST the reply of lewis hitting & cutting him with the tape that's on the side of his glove....other wise continue to troll with a bruised butt.....

Mayweather ruined Corley a little bit IMO. He took an amazing amount of clean shots against Floyd.....i don't know how he held out in that one.

rewriting history. Find me two posters on here who called Shane shot before the fight was signed by Floyd........you can't because there is only one. This is revisionist history, and i would argue he's still not shot. He shouldn't be fighting at 154 iand i can guarantee you it wasn't Naz Richardson's idea to go there. He doesn't want Shane fighting outside of 147.

Also the same Mosley Floyd fought is the one who did a demolition job on Margarito......and he would do it again if they fought.

SSM is still a handful at 147.......but i agree that he is fading fast. I expected him to lose against Floyd, but i was thinking he might take 4 rds......not one.

Bruseles and Corley are the equivalent of what Briggs was when he fought Lewis, let alone now. Baldomir was legit. He was the champ. Who the *** was Briggs last night other than a guy 10 years removed from his best days.....and yes i realise Vitali is no longer in his prime, but he's certainly much closer to it than Briggs. He did less than what was expected of him. Who would have banked on Briggs going the full 12??

It's a good win i agree....and he dominated, but the calibre of opponent didn't suggest anything different. He was expected to dominate and KO him.
