BoxingScene.com has confirmed through several sources that Alexander Povetkin (20-0, 15 KOs) will not return to action in two weeks as perviously planned. He fought on Saturday, stopping Nigerian boxer Teke Oruh (14-3-1, 6 KOs) in five rounds at the Olimpyskiy Sports Palace in Chekhov, Russia

Povetkin would of been better off taking his beating from Klitschko and collecting his $2 million pay day then be in the situation he's in now. No respect from boxing fans and he looks like a ducker.

      I figured he wouldn't.

Oruh landed a few good shots that hurt him. Povetkin has regressed from the Olympic gold medalist he was, he needs a better trainer.

Strange thing is, he fought a better opponent than Teke Oruh in his 6th pro fight, namely Friday Ahunyana, and was barely touched!

Oruh lost his previous two fights and then retired for a couple of years.

Alexander Povetkin is on a downhill slide, just like the others Teddy Atlas trained.

You guys are dead on about Povetkin! i've followed his career up to the Eddie Chambers fight, and a couple of fights since. You trully gain experience by fighting better oposition. Most fighters fight to the level of competition, everyone has to get up for someone meaning that the level of comp he has been facing is not striking fear into him, so thus he doesn't train all out(conditioning wise) Teddy Atlas is a good color commentator, and a good interview. But he has mental issues that seriously need to be addressed, how in the *** do you let this man into your camp and set your investment back x amount of years? Derek Chisora is about to fight wlad now. I honestly thought about 2 years ago that povetkin would have a shot at actually beating wlad, but now with this nutcase in his corner i don't know - control freaks are dangerous people, because they get selfish and freeze up when shyt doesn't go right! Teddy has not been with povetkin since the amateurs so for him to say that he needs more experience is crazy! the man is a Gold medal super heavyweight! all that amateur experience will get him through styles an adversity as per Teddy Atlas color commentating for friday night fights - dude is a cancer and they need to get povetkin a trainer that will go in there and do the job that was asked. Teddy has a history of messing fighters up - donnie lalond(went after him with a gun) - Mike Tyson (the same or very similar situation - michael grant (lord knows) michael morer (i have your kids on the phone-in a heavyweight title fight mind you) sorry for the long post but i feel sorry for povetkin especially after the briggs fight i just watched!
