Rigoberto Alvarez (25-2, 19KOs), the 32-year-old brother of Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, has vowed to beat Japan's Nobuhiro Ishida (22-5-2, 7KOs) on October 9 at the Mesón de los Deportes in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. The WBA has placed the vacant 154-pound title in the fight. The organization has made Miguel Cotto the "super" champion at junior middleweight.

Rigo is pretty white but he's not ginger. Besides Rigo is bald. They look a lot alike though.

****ing WBA. Has Cotto unified his title or has he made 10 successful title defenses. NO! So why did the WBA make Cotto a "Super Champion"? I can't stand these paper championships.

They are just trying to be Politically Correct like where there ARE no losers, and everyone gets a ribbon of participation!

They dont wanna ruin his feelings! Plus the sanctioning fee is pretty good. wait until they have W.B.A "Super Duper Gold Diamond 149 Catchweight Belt"

How much money was spent for the WBA to give these to under qualified fighters a shot for the belt?

Just another way for these boxing organizations to make money. I didn't even know Canelo had a brother and he's fighting for a title!! Maybe they can fight each other!
