The WBA will reportedly elevate middleweight Gennady Golovkin from interim champ to regular champ [Felix Sturm is the WBA's super champion at the weight]. Golovkin will be allowed one mandatory defense (possible forNovember) and will then fight the winner of Hassan NīDam vs Avantandil Khurtside - this fight have now been "reduced" to interim title status. When asked, the WBA championships committee director Gilberto Jesus Mendoza denied any decision has been made but that a resolution would be announced in a few days.

its really a shame how golovkin won that "title."
its more pathetic than when berto won his belt.

i like golovkin though and wish him luck. hopefully he becomes a marked man instead of an avoided man now.


also, wouldve loved to see cleverly vs campilllo. i think campillo wouldve schooled the sht out of him.

Thank God. The WBA MW title situation is a mess but this is fair and makes sense. N'jikam certianly shouldn't be rewarded for ducking Golovkin multiple times. N'jikam will almost certianly win his match, the interm belt, and we'll finally see the showdown between Golovkin-N'jikam for the regular WBA belt.

After that hopefully the winn will either fight Sturm (unlikely) or try to unify with Pirog. Golovkin and Pirog both seem eager to fight the best and if Golovkin gets past N'jikam i think a Pirog-Golovkin showdown would be likely not to mention epic.

Sturm will never fight Golovkin, so I hope Golovkin, Pirog, Martinez and P. Williams get together at some point and fight each other. Sturm, Sylvester and Zbik can keep slapping around second-rate opposition in Germany and let the real middleweight big boys duke it out
