  • Comments Thread For: Luis Garcia Accepts James DeGale Offer, if Groves Passes

Irish based Cuban sensation Luis “El Leon” Garcia says he is ready, willing and able to accept a fight with Britain's Gold medallist, James “Chunky” DeGale if a clash between DeGale and domestic rival George Groves can't be made.

I know plenty of people might hate on me for saying this, but for the good of the sport, these prospects SHOULDN'T face each other NOW. We'd all love the sport to be like the 50s when everyone fought everyone, but the general public's recognition of fights is so low now we need to save these rivalries for 2, 3, 4 years down the line when the promoters can make it a new Benn/Eubank trilogy. Having said that, I think this is more Warren showmanship. But it's still not worth the risk of something ****** actually happening and the fight/s happening at the wrong time.

I think its good to hear.
DeGale has been making short work of the journeymen he's fought, its time to step him in with someone either proven at a higher level or just as promising as he is. The only thing he's gonna learn fighting these bums is bad habits.

I agree, it's not worth nothing now but in a couple of years they both might be champions depending where the combatants of the super 6 are. With Degale being an a gold medalist he will be on the short path to a title shot depending on who has what title. Facing a KO artist right now is not in the best interest of Frank Warren

            That's so tight.

My prediction is that Groves, DeGale and Garcia all face opponents who are not one another though.

I do agree that it's good that they don't face each other now, because a loss could dent their confidence, and a fight down the line when they are established great fighters would be much better.
