24-year old Welterweight John O’Donnell (24-1, 11 KO) of Shepherds Bush, London, made a step up in competition Friday night at the Arena in Liverpool, winning over twelve rounds versus 33-year old veteran Terrance Cauthen (35-7, 9 KO) of Trenton, New Jersey. It was O’Donell’s ninth straight win since a surprising stoppage loss to Christian Solano in 2007. Cauthen, a 1995 U.S. Amateur champion and 1996 Olympian, loses for the first time in three 2010 starts. [Click Here To Read More]

This was the first time I've seen Fury fight. I have to say I was not impressed in any way. He kept his hands low the entire time, has no lateral movement, limited boxing ability at best, and threw sloppy punches throughout the whole fight. What I saw was not the future of the heavyweight division but rather the next Tye Fields. Fury is out of shape, poorly conditioned, has a soft midsection and appears to rely solely on his size rather than skill or power to win. Why am I not surprised to see the media overhyping yet another flabby crude slugger as the next big thing in boxing?
At any rate, Fury's got a lot of work to do if he's serious about reigning at the top of the division. I wish him the best but don't think he'll go to far. -
fury needs more time to get better.
Tyson Fury showed that he has quick hands for a big man and has some potential, BUt he needs a lot more time to develop as his hands were too low and he swings with reckless abandonment, which leaves him open for shots. I believe that he needs to come to the States for better competition and training, then perhaps in 3 years or so he can make headways in the division.Comment
