WBO #12 Russian light heavyweight Dmitry Sukhostky (15-1, 10 KOs) will be back to the squared circle on Oct. 29 at Yubileyniy palace of sports in Saint Petersburg to face one of his toughest tests to date. Sukhotsky, who previously held a number of minor titles in two weight classes but is best known for his spirited effort against reigning WBO champion Juergen Braehmer last December, clashes against highly ranked Pole Aleksy Kuziemsky (19-1, 4 KOs), who lost his bid via Braehmer last year via eleventh-round TKO. He has beaten talented Russian Igor Mikhalkin (11-0) in his last fight. Kuziemsky is the EBA titleholder, who is also ranked #5 by both the IBF and the WBA and #6 by the WBO. Sukhotsky is the IBF International titlist. However, an exact status of the upcoming match-up hasn’t been solidified yet. “The fight is signed and done and it’ll certainly be a title one”, said Jab Promotions’ president Vitaly Supichenko to this reporter.
