I agree, I don't want to see Toney get severely hurt. It seems like another case of another boxer doing what he loves and doesn't know when to quit.

I also think Jermaine Taylor should never step in a ring again.

Yes , he should retire now , and I thought this way before his last MMA fight . Combine the change in his speech with his age , the amount of fights and rounds he went through , his recent performances against Danny Batchelder and Fres Oquendo and his eating disorder and get why he has no realistic chance to ever surprise for the good again.
His only chance is to have his health damaged yet further , and even that without getting paid like he was in the past.

Toney has already written himself in the history books of boxing. He has accomplished a lot and has a family and himself to take care of now.

Let those gloves hang and think about your best days as a fighter and go home to your family. You've done your job and paid your dues, champion. Enjoy life.

Evander Holyfield , Antonio Tarver , Roy Jones Jr. , David Tua , Hassim Rahman , Juan Manuel Marquez , Marco Antonio Barrera and Eric Morales should retire too.

I think we all can agree with Freddie, on this occasion. Hopefully James sees sense and realises he has nothing to prove.

I remember James fighting Iran Barkley and making it look so easy. He always portrayed himself as a tough guy that knocks everyone out, but to me he is one of the best technicians I have ever seen in the ring.I was convinced that he was going to be the guy that beat Roy Jones. But, that was around the time you could see that he had an eating disorder and wasn't dedicated to the sport any longer. Its sad to see how his skills have diminished. Its even sadder to see how his speech is so slurred. Its time to retire James.Do it for your family, friends, and fans. But more importantly, do it for yourself.

i'd watch james fight till his 50...but i do agree..it has gone on too long.

to see a 47 year old wrestler drop about 50 punches to his head whilst he couldn't defend himself on the mat is a shocking way to go out...but if he wants to have any quality of life 10 years from now he MUST!

and for the record he was done after the 1st Peter fight. See the massive shots he took in rounds 3 and 5..he was out on his feet.

I think Michael Marley has taken too many blows to the head.

First he says Toney should "hand up the gloves"

Then he says Roach is suffering from "Parkonsonism"

Toney has been done for a long time. His talk about fighting the Klitschkos is delusional and they will never fight a guy as obviously punch-drunk as Toney is anyway. What is the upside of beating a shot James Toney?

                    RETIRE, TONEY. DO IT NOW!
