Comments Thread For: Jean Pascal Shreds Lucian Bute, Targets Hopkins Clash

WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (25-1, 16 KOs) is not going to chase a fight with fellow Canadian, IBF super middleweight king Lucian Bute (26-0, 21 knockouts). After winning a decision over the man most experts considered as the 175-pounder in the world, Chad Dawson, the new unified champion is looking for the best and biggest fights possible. interesting fight.

hopkins has obviously declined quite alot, he looked good in the pavlik fight but all the other fights post tarver he looked pretty bad, especially his last two. and pascal is alot better than both ornelas and a washed up roy jones. hes a fast, strong and hungry fighter who could very well send hopkins into permanent retirement.

then again u can never sleep on hopkins, pascal has a fair amount of flaws and hopkins could very well outbox him using his skills and smarts. either way it wont be a bad fight, pascal wont allow it. never seen pascal in a dull fight.

I think Pascal may be right. It's Bute who will most likely end up having to chase him.

Whether or not Pascal vs Bute doesn't happen, Pascal still has a rematch with Dawson and a possible big fight with Hopkins, so all's well for Pascal.

Meanwhile, Bute has to wait for Super-6 scraps.

Pascal will outhustle Bhop. He will easily outwork him to a decision. He is not a come forward flat footed fighter like Pavlik was. This would be a great name for Pascal to fight. He's an exciting fighter and I don't think Chad ever had him hurt. I think he was just fatigued down the stretch. Don't think Chad would have got him out of there if the fight had continued.

I agree with Pascal, that Brinkley fight is a joke. I mean technically Brinkley earned his shot and decent pay-day but we all know the outcome of that unless they drug Bute before the bout.

out hustle, by throwing 30 punches a round and fleeing and staying away from action for 2 mins of each round?

pavlik threw 100 punches a round and was very active.

bhop will not need to expend as much energy as he did against pavlik

bhops ring iq is 100x that of dawson or pascal.

bhop wont stay static and bend over to his left and receive flurries losing points like a greeeeeeeeen dawson did.

I hope they don't make Pascal/Hopkins a PPV fight, but they probably will. I'm done paying for the Hopkins theatrical acting shows until I see different. One thing for sure though, B-Hop is like a box of chocolates... ya neva know what ya gonna get.

Would rather see him square off against Bute or Cloud.
