Stevenson hands down. No one else comes close. Even if his fame is in the amateurs, no one can match what he has achieved in the olympics.

Eladio Valdes aka Black Bill was pretty good in his day. His story is really sad though.

        http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Black_Bill

This was the description of his last fight:
Exact date, location, number of rounds & result unknown, but Bill lost this fight and retired, almost totally blind from venereal disease. He killed himself in New York after three years of drinking and bouts of depression.

His smile is so reminiscent of Floyd Mayweather's smile too... it's a little scary:

          For me, Kid Gavilan.

They've had so many great amateurs as well but they can't be ranked a long with the pro's no matter how good they were, we just don't know how they would've done.

I have Kid Gavilan with Jose Napoles at #2.....

Too bad Mantequilla didn't stay at LW longer. I think he could of done some serious damage at that weight-class.

Gavilan is a good choice. I think it's him or Kid Chocolate who held the JLW title and is generally regarded as an all-time top 10 FW. He compiled the outstanding record of 135-10 with 6 draws.
