Comments Thread For: Schaefer Provides Amir Khan, Marquez, Katsidis Update

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene.com that although he has seen reports out of Mexico claiming Juan Manuel Marquez is leaning toward defending his lightweight belts against Michael Katsidis, he doesn't know for certain that is the case.

Why are you trying to sabotage JMM's career?

I already know the answer is greed, so no need to answer that.

Just because JMM is on every respectable P4P list doesn't mean he can rise in weight however he pleases. This **** isn't Toughman, there's weightclasses in boxing for a reason.

Adding more pounds to JMM's small lightweight frame to have him take on 1 of the bigger, faster Jr. Welterweights is an automatic loss and you know that ****. He already moved up 2 weight classes, adding pounds to a career featherweight frame. He can probably still make 130.

Not only that, but the man's face is already pushing it at lightweight with Khan hitting him he'll automatically swell up and get cut.

Stop trying to sabotage JMM's career by dangling the carrot in his face you piece of ****, his career isn't done just yet. He still has at least 2 really good fights in him (Katsidis and Linares or Guerrero).

Unfortunately he can't fight right now as it's Ramadan. He's fasting everyday for a month and so is not fit to train till around mid September. November/December is the only realistic date for him.

I don't understand why people are bashing the potential match of Khan-JMM. JMM has looked good at 126, 130 AND 135 !!. The only clear loss in his career was at 147 against Floyd Mayweather Jr !!. And Floyd didnt win that fight on height and reach advantage. He won it on skill.

It's funny that some people make fun of Amir's chin and say that it's the worst chin they have ever seen but yet those same people dont wan't to see Khan-JMM. At 135 JMM knocked out Casamayor and Diaz who were never knocked out before despite fighting a hard hitter like Katsidis. If Khan-JMM happens, surely JMM would land one of his punches on Amir's chin won't he?

JMM is possibly the most dangerous opponent for khan in my opinion!

There is a big chance that JMM may land a fight with Manny as the way things are going with Magarito and his license is doing.
