Chavez vs Cotto? Ok that's a good one and it's 50-50
Juanma vs Marquez? Are you ****ing serious? Imagine if Baldomir was Puerto Rican and Canelo fighting him would be considered a fight as well?
Calderon vs Segura? Segura isn't even a top Mexican fighter dumbass.
Juanma should beat Marquez. He's a prime fighter fighting a smaller, past his prime opponent. He's an embarrassment if he doesn't.
Calderon will beat Segura as the fight is in Puerto Rico and Calderon will have his track shoes on and run like the little puto that he is.

View PostI was surprised at Chavez's improvement, especially in that little time. I will admit that Cotto did have a lot more left then I thought, but Yuri ain't much of a puncher and he ain't that durable. Actually I think I may have overestimated Yuri. However, Chavez at this point can only get better. I see Chavez takin' his shots while Cotto not being able to take his, especially as the rounds go by. The size is gonna play a huge role; Chavez will be considerably bigger fight night and unlike Foreman, Chavez Jr. will take advantage of what little Cotto has left.
JCCJ youth, good corner, size, power (although not the greatest power but he has been fighting 160's), will be in his favor. It is yet to see if he can take body punches from Cotto although it is yet to see how Cotto's power can affect a guy that has been fighting bigger and probably stronger opponents than Cotto. Not saying that any of his opponents is better than Cotto, but a Great power of a natural 147 can be equal to average power of a natural 160. We need to see how will his conditioning be for the fight at 154 although he does have a good trainer in Ariza.
On the other hand Cotto's advantage will be his quick hands, counter punching, boxing skills, body punching and experience.
Same as JCCJ, we need to see how Cotto takes the decent power of a 160 lb.
With all this said, Cotto should win by UD or KO in the later rounds because of the accumulation of body punching slowing Chavez down but i don't see it as a piece of cake for Cotto.

I see so many people say that Cotto is only effective going forward and I disagree.
Cotto is at his best when he's boxing...not boxing off his back foot, but boxing.
Think about how he fought against Mosley...and even Gomez. He wasn't bullying Gomez, but he was boxing him laterally with sharp, accurate punches.
To me, that's the style that is Cotto is most effective employing. When he's bullying he gets reckless and he doesn't have the punch resistance anymore to do that.
He has very good counter punching hability, very good jab even when moving backward. I just hate when he stays against the ropes exchanging blows and in the process getting hit by punches that can be avoid, but i guess that's what make him so atractive to boxing fans out of his fan base. Everybody like to see KO and blood in boxing matches and that's what you always get in Cotto's fight, win or lose.

For Jr's sake i hope they're talking about jose cotto and not miguel, this dude had trouble with matt freakin vanda and he thinks he will beat cotto ?? Hillarious...cotto has lost a bit but damn not that much, i can still remember 10 minutes ago everyone thought by some miracle cotto could beat floyd, now he might loose to chavez jr ??? I'm not even sure he'd beat wolak, poor kid i'd almost give his dad a better chance.
