Comments Thread For: Chris Martin Shocks Avalos, Kayode Stops Escalera Late

Though traditionally a fire-breathing power puncher from bell to bell, Chris Avalos was more subdued in the early going, attempting to box rather than fall into any traps against the slicker Chris Martin. Any plans of keeping it strictly boxing quickly dissolved three minutes later, as Avalos began ****ing away from both the conventional and southpaw stance. [Click Here To Read More]

I don't know what is a bigger shocker, Jacobs losing last week or avalos this week.avalos needs to get a different trainer besides his pops to Try to tap into that so called potential.sounded like his dad was a cheerleader instead of trainer..forget about any excuses about weight if presented , he just got beat plain and simple.good job to Martin he folllowed the game plan thru out, mariano's score was ridiculous, he must be related somehow to benoist or gale van hoye as terrible as a score that was.

I didn't see a problem with Avalos,it's just that Martin was that good.very slick.both of them had a hard time making weight so their next outing at superbantam should be great.tough luck for Avalos.

why is this shocking? avalos was not that great of a prospect. he has one decent attribute and thats thudding power, but everything else about him is sub-par.
martin wasnt even that good, he just actually has decent boxing skills unlike avalos.

and really u dont see anything wrong with avalos? his balance, his stance, his punching technique, his concept of punching range, his ability to set up punches, his weak jab, his tactics, his versatility and ability to switch game plans, etc.

other than his power, avalos is ordinary

As unimpressed as the commentators were with Kayode, I thought he looked like a ****ing beast tonight. Escalera trainers wouldn't have been wrong to stop the fight earlier.

I like him as a future force in the CW division.

I didn't even get to see the fight but this news isn't that shocking. You could just tell Chris has never had any real training. The first time I saw him fight he was getting bombed on just as much if not worse than Ortiz got bombed on by Maidana.

The sad thing is that I saw a interview with Chris and I don't know if it was just me or what but he sounded like he was already starting to slur his words some. That kid really needs some legitimate training beause I think he's too tough for his own good.
