Although I dont think its fair to make him #1 at 168, his record is underrated. How he was able to take out Andrade and Miranda like he did outshines what Kessler(against Andrade), Abraham and Ward(against Miranda) did.
lets not forget that Bute also beat Bika better than Calzaghe did(underrated win) as well. and most people overlook this win, but Alejandro Berrio was a good win as well.(Berrio has a TKO wins over Yusaf Mack Rob Stielglitz)

although I would have to say that Ward's dominant win over Kessler kind of should put him above Bute.
Good post, i also agree that Ward did a impressive fight over Kessler. A fight with Bute and Ward would be great !

C'mon Miranda is just an ok fighter but not a bum and he has the power to ko anyone in the world if he catches them.

Andrade, even though he is limited could beat a few fighters in the tourney. I give him a chance against anyone in the world too even if he would lose to slicksters who he can't find and bust up.

I don't mean they are actual bums, maybe that was harsh. What I mean is I don't know how anyone could rate Bute number 1 when all these other guys in the tourney are laying it on the line, fight after fight. Even if I felt Bute had the most talent I could not rate him in the 1 spot because you have to show me something against one of the top guys. Gotta prove yourself against the best, if you want to be the best.

at last someone talking some sense

            yes, Calzaghe STRUGGLED against Bika
            Bute handled Bika EASY

people just don't understand Bute is still considered no 1 because he got there before the others

when Bute became champion, Ward was still a nobody nobody cared about

mmm well Ward's dominant win over Kessler is pretty much way better than any win on Bute's record.
then throw in the Miranda and Green wins +the fact hes undefeated and I would have to say hes #1 in the division at the moment.

and how can Bute be the most lucky man when he was left out of a great tournament which he wanted to be part of

on top of it, the best supermiddleweight not in the tournament is too much of a ***** to fight him, and that is Stieglitz

so basically, Bute is struggling to get good fights right now

                what a moron you are

I will stay true to my word, I'll rank Ward no. 1 only when and if he beats Dirrell

as of now, Bute is still no. 1 in my book and in a lot of people's book too

                    that doesnt sound unreasonable.

A real shame Bute isnt in the super six, imagine if he replaced Taylor instead of Green.

Bute is a good fighter with lots of underrated wins. Don't know why your knocking him off. If memory serves me right, he wants to join S6 but did not get the chance. As it is right now, he is struggling to get quality opponents. I'd wait until the s6 is done and the fighters there are available before passing judgement on him.
