If he signs to fight another fighter then he is definitely avoiding Pacquiao. If not it could mean a lot of things. The story will, hopefully, come to light after time.

It might have to do with his father, his uncle...or something else. We simply do not know. I will state this: He owes us an explanation. I believe he does as we are the fans and supporting his career. If he is bound by promises not to discuss it, then he will have to simply endure until such time as he can reveal the truth or the story comes out on its own.

I am trying to remain objective, but it is not easy. I am favoring the idea that something is wrong and he is not at liberty to discuss it (father's health). Given the responses of the Pacquiao camp and Arum, it makes sense that it is not likely his unwillingness to fight to avoid losing.

Yet, avoiding the fight because of his desire to keep from losing is just as possible as Senior's accusation against Pacquiao. Rumor has it (another poster, actually) that Pacquiao dropped his defamation suit. IF, and that is a huge if, that is true, then I think that clearly shows something is not right in Floyd's family.

Floyd's cryptic response and Arum's respectful tone, twice now, indicate there is more to all of this than mere 'ducking'.

I would be super suprised if he fought someone this year because he has long training camps, and it would be ppv and there isn't a ton of time to promote that kind of fight before the end of the year.

They would have to make the announcement in a couple of weeks max if he were to fight in December.

You don't go from not interested in the biggest fight, to signing one a little bit later.

Mayweather isn't fighting this year. People can move on now.

If Manny loses his next fight , it will take some lackluster out of Floyd vs Manny which means less money to earn. Why risk that? well, because he doesnt want to fight him.......if he did he would just take the fight. or open his mouth and say lets do it in Jan 2011....all that money to earn in the biggest fight in history and nothing to say.

mayweather should have said something during this whole thing instead of ignoring the situation. i was giving him the benefit of the doubt before but now i just think hes an idiot. whether he is afraid of pacquiao or not i dont know but he is going to take heat from the fans and media over this and he deserves it. you cant say that this doesnt make him look like a coward because it does and not only that but he disrespected his own fans by pulling that ****. nobody has the right to tell him who to fight and when but he made himself look bad by going about it the way that he did and his mind games backfired on him this time. ive been defending him for months now about this situation but i cant figure out how anybody thinks he did the right thing this time.
