Comments Thread For: TKO Boxing – The Revolution Will Finally Be Televised

By Jake Donovan - Just because you haven’t seen it for yourself, doesn’t mean that it hasn’t happened.

For those who only pay attention to what is put in front of them and not the sport as a whole, chances are that the name ‘Chet Koerner’ doesn’t immediately ring out. But for a stable of up and coming talent, the mere mention of the Houston-raised promoter’s name and his TKO Boxing promotional company means staying busy, with or – and for far too long – without TV.

The good news for those who insist that seeing is believing, is that fans will finally get to witness for themselves what all of the fuss is about regarding the hardest working man in the sport.

After securing more fight dates per year than any promotional company not named Top Rank or Golden Boy Promotions, the boxing power brokers have finally thrown a bone to the hardest working man in the sport.

TKO Boxing makes its ESPN2 Friday Night Fights debut this weekend, hosting a show to be aired live from Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California (Friday, 11PM ET). Headlining the show is a welterweight crossroads bout, pitting former junior welterweight contenders Demetrius Hopkins and Mike Arnaoutis in a 12-round welterweight battle that is must-win for both fighters. I like what TKO is doing, a promoter who cares for the fighters and for the sport, what Golden Boy promised they would be, TKO is actually doing. 19 Shows in a year is also really impressive, those things arent easy to organize.

Dhop vs Mighty Mike is a very good fight for ESPN.

Agree I like what TKO is doing to, sounds so logical and obviously, yet hardly anyone does it. Hope they continue to grow and get more and more shows.

Its good to see D-Hop getting back in the ring more often. Big ups to TKO. They're giving us a lot of good fights. I can't wait to see Judah-Cruz. I can't believe its in only two weeks already.
