I want to feel bad for him but he made his own bed. $35,000 sounds a bit steep though, the man doesn't have to many big paydays left in his career. I would like to see the commission's use money they earn from fining fighter's to set up some kind of retirement account for boxers. Wishful thinking right?

This is bull****, it's not bad enough he got robbed in the first fight but in the second they let Guzman overweigh him by two divisions and they do nothing to Guzman but they find out he takes a diuretic which causes more trouble for the boxer more than it helps and they suspend and finne him.

What the hell does Shaw mean, ---Even though he did so unknowingly---??????? Funeka took Hydroclorothiazide, a prescription drug primarly a water pill but sometimes (rarely) taken for high blood pressure. I'm sorry but there is no way on Gods green earth he took Hydroclorothiazide without knowing it. He had to take it within just a few days prior to the fight because the way it works is to NOT take it all the time, but just take one pill and overnight you can lose up to 5 pounds (more or less depending on the mg) in the morning and throughout the next day. I know, I took it for a long time.
What continues to boggle my mind however is that Funeka knew he was going to be tested immediately after the fight (urine) as all fighters do. Just like Manuel Vargas took Hydrocodone (vicodin) before his last fight knowing he would be tested after the fight. AND THEY WERE CAUGHT! Criminy! So much for the 'all hail drug deterents'. Did they honestly think they wouldn't get caught? I doubt it. They had to of known they would get caught, and they did. And neither of those prescription drugs were PEDs. They don't enhance anything, but even though they are legal prescriptions, they are on the banned list.
It seems reasonable to say that nothing is a deterent for some people, and that the USADA saying they didn't 'need' to test past 18 days in the FMJ/Mosely fight (one of which was admitedly a former steroid user) because 'they didn't feel there was a need for it' (basically saying the deterent would work well enough)... is laughable in itself. USADA got paid a lump sum I would imagine for the job and not by the times tested. If they would have been paid per test taken you better believe they would have been testing them every other day up until the day of the fight. But, USADA would have had to pay for every test conducted - and that would have been money out of there own pockets at that point.... so lets just deem it 'not neccessary'. LMFAO I thought the whole selling point of needing USADA so badly in sports was because PEDs can be cycled in and out of the system so quickly, therefore their need to be involved, yet now it comes down to them basically getting paid to 'scare' (deter) them from taking them. Could do just as well or better calling in a bully squad, and I bet they wouldn't charge as much!
USADA is about making that money, and proved that making absolutely sure the athlete is clean is not their true objective. Now they talking about bringing in "the evil chemist", I'm sure Contes thinking 'hey, if you can't beat em, join em'. Again, about $$$$$. And wow, if by chance their little deterent theory doesn't work and a fighter comes up dirty after the fight, guess what..... a big fine goes in THEIR pocket!
I know I've gone off a little bit here, and it might not be the appropriate thread, however even Ray Charles could see through all the hypocracy of those who claim 'It's about bettering the sport!' No, it's about putting money in their pocket, and surely the few non biased people on here should see that!

Funeka got what he deserved, Guzman kicked his ass and now he's getting fined for taking something that's banned 2 help his 6'1 ass make the 135 pound weight limit. **** him!!! He's a cheater 2.
