Comments Thread For: 2010 European Amateur Championship: 1st Stage Results

XXXVIII European boxing championship has kicked off on Saturday in Moscow, Russia. The cream of European amateurs will take part in a week-long tournament, which officially lasts from June 4 to June 13. Unfortunately, not all the best European fighters will take their parts in a tournament this time. Missing in Moscow (among others) are the two most decorated amateur fighters of the present time – two-time Olympic gold medalist Alexey Tischenko (Russia) and 2008 Beijing Olympic champion and 2009 Milan world champion Vasyl Lomachenko (Ukraine), who is regarded by many to be P4P best amateur in the world. I wonder why Usyk isn't fighting. Poyatsika is a good fighter, huge power, but i can't imagine Usyk not making the team. Wonder if he's injured.

    edit - yeah he's injured

Who said that he is injured? I read he and Lomachenko passed Euro Championship to train for WC and OG.

Why don't Lomachenko and Tischenko turn pro?

The romanian fighter at bantamweight is named Razvan Andreiana. You mispelled his name twice.I thought Roberto Cammarelle turned pro after Chicago.I met him at an amateur tournament in Italy.I think he has the attributes to be a legitimate contender at heavyweight. That being said it seems my boys from Romania had their asses handed to them once again.Nobody cares about amateur boxing in Romania anymore. And I remember my father and trainer saying that the cubans always invited our fighters there to sparr and train together.
