BRONX, N.Y. -- Nearly 16 months earlier, Miguel Cotto had suffered his first loss as well as the beating of his career at the hands of Antonio Margarito, whose 11th-round knockout in July 2008 not only dethroned Cotto as WBA king, but left the Puerto Rican star with a broken nose after having been knocked down once, taking a knee once and bleeding from a cavernous laceration over his left eye. Why would Steward even mention this before a fight? Reckless answers.BRONX, N.Y. -- Nearly 16 months earlier, Miguel Cotto had suffered his first loss as well as the beating of his career at the hands of Antonio Margarito, whose 11th-round knockout in July 2008 not only dethroned Cotto as WBA king, but left the Puerto Rican star with a broken nose after having been knocked down once, taking a knee once and bleeding from a cavernous laceration over his left eye. i dont like the way steward has handled the build up to this fight on many levels. i think he says things to either make himself look better if cotto wins or to deflect responsibility if cotto looks bad. i have never seen a trainer openly doubt and question his fighter the way steward has with cotto.Comment

Not when your opponent can use that against you. It should all be secret untill after the fight. Seems to me trainers now give away too much info to the press. Too many trainers these days are looking for just as much attention as the fights. Trainers should'nt be giving interviews like they do.Comment
