Was Erik Morales in his prime for the 2nd and 3rd Pac fights?

Good post. Actually, great post.First of all it was a flat out ***** move that Pacs team tried to make every excuse possible for the loss in the first fight rather then giving real props.
Morales did fairly well even in the 2nd fight and was winning at first, but unlike the first fight he just did not have the energy to fight on.. clear proof he was pretty much shot and that the weight effected him badly + the fact that he had been 12-0 vs Rahmen.
The third fight was a complete joke
The Second fight was ok i mean sure i guess pac wanted some revenge for the loss, but even then that was a shell of Morales. The first fight he had given he one last truly great performance.Comment

Because there was no indication that guy didnt have his legs in the fight. He lost it after the 6th when he got busted up..
You would notice if the guy is dehydrated based on his legs as early as the 1st round. If you see an exchange at early rounds, you can already tell that Morales base was very much intact and established. A fighter would have wobbled (although subtle)legs in an exchange if he was dehydrated. Morales was not. He's legs got shaky after the 6th round when Pac was already hurting him...Comment

What do you base this on?????????Because there was no indication that guy didnt have his legs in the fight. He lost it after the 6th when he got busted up..

Add the wear and tear and his weight problems into the mix and you could clearly see he was way past it i their 1st fight. I don't know why some people won't admit it. If it's any consolation to people PAC was still improving.Comment

I mean look at the ODLH - Pac fight. And see the first exchange, and carefully look at Oscar's legs...
The first 2 fights was one of Morales best performance as a fighter. Ranked up there with his fights against MAB, Junior Jones, and ZaragosaLast edited by mikemurni; 06-02-2010, 11:47 AM.Comment

He might have been a lil passed it when they first fought. But fact is he was still on the P4P list and still would have been a hard fight for anybody.Morales was not shot untill the 3rd fight.Comment

Corrales was dehydrated against Floyd according to who?? WTF???
Second, being dehydrated works in two ways. When a fighter has been able to rehydrate but killed himself trying to make weight he is almost always strong early before fading. De La Hoya never even got a chance to rehydrate (IVs in the dressing room?), which is why he was faded from the get-go. Just stop, man. This is ridiculous. Morales begged for a catchweight. And had ALREADY moved up prior to the fight. You think he did that for fun? Give me a break.Comment
