I just read an article were Tito was begging to fight Vargas after his win over Thompson....he knew if he waited long he would have gotten smashed!
If Vargas wasnt so young, he would have made Tito his ***** just like DLH!

One theory is that Main Events wanted to get Vargas is as many big fights as possible because they were worried that he'd self-destruct outside the ring so they figured they might as well move him along fast. He had been having some legal problems, getting arrested for assault. Supposedly he beat up a guy with a golf club.Comment

I've always said this.Vargas was always more talented than De La Hoya and Trinidad. He adapted to the pro ranks alot quicker than both and achieved more in his first three years than both Trinidad and De La Hoya did.
Trinidad was involved in a life and death struggle with a green kid who fought with his heart rather than his brain.
Even the damaged Vargas gave De La Hoya a hell of a fight before his already cracked chin got found out.Last edited by prinzemanspopa; 05-20-2010, 02:48 AM.Comment

A true Mexican warrior that is sadly remembered by newbs for his losses as a shot fighter to guys who he would have given a pasting to in his prime.
No,it's not.
He fought and beat better opposition in his first three years as a pro than both De La Hoya and Trinidad.Comment
