I like Floyds skills but when it comes to fighting the best he's an out an out *****!
    your post is idiotic. simply.

a fighter's career lasts 10-15 years on the average in my opinion so a decade is the closest we can get to an era. and the point here is if shane beats floyd...does floyd still be in consideration as best of this era? i said no...you said yes, but that's fine because you're obviously a floyd fan. i pointed out the BWAA already awarded the fighter of the decade to pac but you also disagree. I'm just not sure if you would also disagree if they gave the award to floyd.

No, I think that would make the list

        Roy Jones
        Manny
        Floyd
        Mosley

in my book. Without the win he is probably mixing it with oscar, hopkins, calzaghe, Lewis etc.

By era here I'm talking 1995-2010, which is roughly sugar's career span.

Come on man every real boxing fan knows Joe game beat alot of old guys at the end of their careers and retire(I thought Bhop beat Joe).May fought a decent amount of good fighters.I always gave May **** about who he did not fight cause I felt alot of those guys were not on his level. But that's not all his fault who would have beat him from 130 to 140?IMO nobody.147 ok he did not fight the guys he should have there IMO but the guy has had a great career and should not be compared to Joe.I was saying he was undefeated as one of the reasons but did I not give you enough go back and read the post(the whole Post again then get back to me).

I read the post before commenting.....and the rest of your post was good....my only comment was the undefeated thing.

He was undefeated...and at the time (after Hatton)....there were some very "interesting" fights for Floyd out there that had the potential to give him his 1st "0". Mayweather / Cotto.....Mayweather / Margarito.....Mayweather / Mosely.....Mayweather / DLH II......all of those fights also would've been at least 1 milli + in PPV buys....but instead he chose to "retire"....coincidentally during that time...Cotto had wars with Mosley, Margarito and Cotto.....Mosley went to war with Cotto, Mayorga and Margarito....Margarito stayed busy with Cintron, Johnson, Cotto and Mosley.......

My whole point is.....he stayed undefeated by avoiding the other fighters....and truth is...he probably would've been the betting favorite....

3 fighters of the year, 4 lineal titles and a Fighter of the decade award is pretty hard to smash.

Hey your preaching to the choir. But i respect May as a fighter. He's smart to let all those guy's go and beat them self's up.Remember when Leonard I believe was getting gear up to fight Haggler what he did?He retired for that yr and Haggler went on to fight Hearns(If I'm wrong please correct me).It did not make Leonard look less of a great fighter because he fought him.Same thing here except Cotto had alot taken outtta him with war with mosley and Marga's even the Clottey fight foggeta bout Pac.Marga's is hurt but we don't know were he is really at either untill we see him fight.May still has a chance to do what needs to be done at WW.But anything below that he proved everything he needed to prove there.
