I believe it's on Friday 7PM in Japan, so that would be noon for us lucky people in Central Europe and 6 AM on the US East Coast (3 AM Pacific Time), but it's a bit complicated with them not having summertime etc...

Oh and I'm very surprised about the 22 pounds claim. Even though he said before that he kinda struggles with bantamweight, 22 pounds is a lot and he actually always looks in shape in between fights as far as I can tell.

the only good thing about that time is that there's always available streams to fights in Japan

I've heard that he's been struggling for a bit now. I remember reading some articles that said he was really thinking about moving up after his last fight. Heck, The Ring published an article saying he might go right to 126 and look to fight Chris John.

No wonder he's been finishing all his fights early recently.

I would love to see him fight Chris John or Poonsawat

I think he could beat them both. Specially if he can somehow keep all of his speed and footwork while moving up in weight. When I watch John and Poonsawat, they are just too stand still for him. I think it could end up looking like the Veeraphol fight(s).

Hasegawa was commenting for Poonsawat's last fight, I think I read on here that Poonsawat called out Hozumi after the fight

Potentially. Poonsawat does have better boxing ability then some might think from what I've seen. Offensively, he's pretty good, picks his shots well and is a hand-full on the inside. He's not reckless either, IMO. He'll keep he's hands up when coming in and apply educated pressure. But obviously due to his style, he's gonna get hit more. If Poonsawat can make it his fight, he could win.

Chris John has slowed a bit, and it appears he's having trouble making weight. But I guess they wanna stay at 126 because it's where the money's at.

Well the first Sahaprom fight was pretty close and competitive. Hasegawa had to dig deep in order pull it out. The second fight was a beatdown, but TBH, the Sahaprom from the first fight had showed signs of aging (still a quality fighter), and the one from the rematch was clearly past it. IMHO, Hasegawa despite being very skilled has some questions over him as he hasn't fought a top fighter since Sahaprom in 2005.

didn't montiel just get knocked out 2 fights ago but a serious injustice occured and it was changed to a nc? kinda kills the hype for this once compelling fight.

i hate crap like that just like giovanna segura knocking canchilla out ten seconds after the bell rang 5 times and the ref let him. yet that was never changed to a NC or a DQ? disgraceful

Fandom aside, I see Hozumi beating them because they are stand still fighters. They aren't very mobile I should say. If Hozumi can move up and keep his speed and footwork, I don't think he would have much of a problem fighting them because he could probably outbox them if he realizes that he can't finish them. If he doesn't keep his speed and footwork, then it might look like Hozumi-Maludrottu, a tough 12 round fight.

Hopefully he can beat Montiel whom the ring labels as 9th best in the bantam division and he can get enough confidence to move up in weight.
