A lightweight being forced to fight at 147? This is a setup fight for Alvarez.

He kind of has a similar fight to his brother in the way that he is moving up in weight to face the taller opponent with the greater reach. However Canelo seems to be an agressive power puncher and foreman (i must admit i have only seen his fight against santos on the cotto pacman undercard) seemed like a passive at best boxer and a deft counter puncher

Jose Cotto was a pretty good fighter before he retired, I don't know who his trainer is now. If he had steward in his side, I'd pick him to win this fight. Some people don't realize how much a good trainer really can bring out the best in a fighter. Don't know much about Alvarez though, is he any good?

Yes, a great rivalry, considering the odds: one is 758 thousand square miles bigger, and has 108 million more people.

Sure, that has something to do with why Mexico has the upper hand in the rivalry. Just expect them to add another one in the win column with Canelo on May 1, that's all I'm saying.

Im not really sold on Canelo, he has potential , but will turn into a face first warrior like most mexicans lately. I dont know this kid might be different and I think this is a good matchup. Cotto is not all that skilled but if Canelo wants to be somebody he better get past Jose Cotto
