I'm curious as to which ATG list you are referring to. I haven't seen a list in the past several years that doesn't have Mayweather in the top 50. Let's look at a couple.

ESPN- 48. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Junior lightweight, lightweight, junior welterweight, welterweight, junior middleweight

Hmm well this is the only list of at least 50 I can find at this moment, but I would like to see the lists you are referring to.

Mayorga was a LHW on fight night.....plus throw in the fact that he throws looping crazy shots that puts hurt on you.....Shane stopped him.....Shane stopped a mofo that out weighed him by 10-15 lbs on fight night.....thats props worthy in my eyes!!

Shane's legs are shot. That is why I think he is going to lose to Floyd fairly easily. If he had some legs left he would make it interesting.

He looked great against Margarito because Margarito came to him. His legs have been shot for a while now and any top welter with good movement would beat him.

In fact I predicted Berto would beat him. It is still a good fight though because I am not sure how Floyd will fight him. If Floyd hangs around the ropes he might put himself in a lot of danger because Shane can still definitely pull the trigger with his hands.

That's the part people leave out. Mosley never fit that well at 154, and is completely different at welterweight.

i'm afraid margarito fight was a mirage.

i hope not because i'm rooting for him against mayweather but a guy who can lose to cotto cannot beat a mayweather.

yes different styles and all but cotto boxed him to win that fight.

if cotto can box him , i don't know.......
