  • Dont get it TWISTED; Shane Mosley is STILL the same figther that struggled vs Mayorga

Shane Mosley is still the same fighter that struggled vs a totally shot & crappiest version of ricardo mayorga up to that date. I saw that fight & i just couldnt believe how sloppy, unathletic, & decrepit shane looked.

He kept on getting hit by mayorga's slow, looping, wild right hands only to regain some semblance of moral victory with a last second knockout.

The whole point of this thread is that mosley was made to look better than he really is by the worst version of antonio margarito. Imo, margarito was suffering ill effects of the cotto fight along with the mental instability of having been caught with plaster before the fight contributed to a totally shot fighter physically & mentally.

Margarito in that fight was slow, lethargic, he was literally dragging his whole body throughout the fight, his volume punching was totally gone, yet it took shane 9 rounds to dispose of the guy.

Come fight night, shane will be 4 months shy of his 39th birthday & will be out of the ring for exactly 1 year & 6 months. Yet people think this fight is gonna be great?

I will be rooting for shane but basically he basically has nothing but a punchers chance.

Don't get it twisted, Shane Mosley is alot better at 147 then what he is at 154.

Whatever, you and the rest of the haters were saying that Floyd would never fight Mosley, now that it is actually happening, excuses are coming out left and right.

Mosley's generally looked pretty poor at 154. The only time he looked good there was against Vargas in the rematch, and Vargas looked shotter than shot.

His last 3 performances at 147 have been good. Decisive win over top 10 contender Collazo, close competitive loss to Cotto, dominating win over Margarito.

I heard he wore shoes that caused blisters on his feet that night and he couldn't bounce around the ring the way he wanted to. He had to slug it out with Mayorga in spots and in turn got hit with some unnecessary shots. Hopefully the guy who beat Margarito shows up against Floyd.

exactly. and add to that the fact that he's 6 years older than mayweather... he's a 39 year old, past his prime fighter. only 2 years younger than jones and we know what's happened to him and boxers around his age.

you can see mayweathers plan by just looking closely at what he's doing... marquez. good name on paper oh but wait he made him go up 9 pounds, go up a whole class and fight at welterweight for the first time. lol!!

mosley.. sounds good yet again think about it. that's why the media and boxing community have made a mockery of mayweather and that's why he continuosly gets disrespected and made fun of. the world has noticed that he is a chicken, he ducks fighters and cherry picks fights. that's why you see pacquiao amongst the greatest OF ALL TIME lists everywhere.. even 3rd greatest of all time yet mayweather is not even in the top 50 lol!

                fraud is a joke!!!!

so how do you guys feel about the 1 year & 6 month layoff come fight night & the fact that he will be 4 months shy of his 39th birthday?

Dont be surprised to see floyd dominate shane not because he's sooo great but because of the circumstances surrounding shane.

I think shane did himself a disservice for sticking around with papa mosley for the majority of his physical prime. he absolutely did not progress as a fighter under his pops.
