WBC flyweight champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam of Thailand said ex-champion Koki Kameda of Japan lacked heart during their recent fight in Tokyo. Wongjongkam won an upset decision over a previously unbeaten Kameda to lift the title last Saturday. When Kameda was a teenager, he was paid by Wongjongkam to be a sparring partner. I still haven't watched all of it, I fell asleep. Not saying it was boring, I was actually too sleepy to finish.Comment

Wonjongkam looked younger and stronger than Kameda through out the fight. Here is an interesting article on the fight. http://www.boxing-articles.com/?p=322Comment

Wonjongkam deserved the decision. It was close (IMO, I know two judges had it a bit wider than me) up until the 8th, but Wonjongkam boxed really well down the stretch to take it. I only gave Kameda one round after the seventh.
BTW, I've been reading a lot on the situation dealing with Shiro Kameda, and he's in trouble. Again.Comment

I watched it on a stream (though I downloaded it and scored it later), and afterward I read Joe Koizumi's report on the fight. He bashed Kameda whenever he could.
He doesn't like the Kameda family, but then again, a lot of older Japanese people don't

Man that's bull****, Japanese fighters are known for their heart and guts. I hope they get the rematch goin soon, i want koki to tear into him. Daisuke has a chance too, it was close but, Pong really did more than koki. He simply outworked him. Koki looked a little worn down the stretch.Comment

In reality, not a lot of older Japanese people. Almost all Japanese people do not like the Kameda family. How can you be fond of them if you know what they have done in and outside the ring? Behold... Shiro Kameda has done it again. He said to the executive secretary of the Japan Boxing Commission, "The scores were far too out of the question! I'll have your head! This must not be forgotten!" Also, he reportedly insisted that there was a point deduction twice on the Thailander's part. He said, "If there had been another minus one, then the bout would have gone the different way." Deduct one from the new champion's scorecards, and then Koki was behind on points... This Yakuza-esque Shiro Kameda must be expelled from boxing for good.
I wonder why the information about this insane family -especially, the father- hasn't reached foreign media.Comment
