Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko: 'If Povetkin Passes, I'll Fight Sam Peter'

WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is not going to wait on David Haye or Alexander Povetkin to make up their minds on a possible fight. Klitschko is looking to fight Povetkin next, the IBF mandatory since 2008. If the unbeaten Russian fighter passes on the match, then Klitschko will look for the next highest available contender in the IBF rankings - Sam Peter. Klitschko won a decision over Peter in 2005. Peter had him down three times in the contest. Klitschko won most of the rounds with his boxing and had Peter hurt in the twelfth round. [Click Here To Read More]

This time Wlad has to STOP him! I don`t care Peter did a "chair" in the Vitali fight, I want Wlad to knock Peter out! Sam seems more dedicated as he became an Arum fighter. Should be a good fight with a good ending!

If Povetkin passes he should lose his mandatory status to Peter and Wlad should not have to come back and fight Povetkin unless he wants to do it as an optional defense.

Wlad should be able to satisfy this mandatory regardless so that he can actively pursue a fight with the Haye-Ruiz winner without anything holding him back.

Peter needs to KTFO Klitschko, he needs to make the most of this opportunity, and put him down to the point he wont get up

Samuel Peter has all the physical assets to trouble Wladimir Klitschko, big puncher with a sturdy chin. It's too bad he doesn't have the skills.

It's almost a lose-lose for Wlad if he has to fight Peter again.

The first time he fought Peter the guy was 243lbs and was motivated for the fight.

After that Peter went onto turn into a fat bum who weighed 254 against Vitali and 263 against Eddie Chambers. He put on two pathetic performances that dropped his stock in the toilet and now nobody really rates him.

On the other hand he seems to have recently remotivated himself and showed up for his most recent fight at his lowest weight in 7 years.

That means that if Wlad faces him he will again see the best version of Sam Peter yet the people who are critical of Wlad to start will not give him credit based on Peter being the same guy who lost to Vitali and Chambers so badly.
