Comments Thread For: Vitali Klitschko, Nikolai Valuev Hoping To Reach Terms

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko still hopes that the team of Nikolay Valuev will accept his offer. The Ukrainian boxer believes that the deal can be reached in several days and compares the situation with his bout with Lennox Lewis.

Here's Valuev, a mediocre boxer at very best, whose attraction is his size and that he can box a bit.

So now we see that it is not only Don King, but Valuev has greedy eyes. He`s worried about Klitschko`s share of the purse, never mind that the offer is far more than his biggest purse, even as champion..........

I`m not very interested in this fight, other than to see the mastodon lumbering around, and hearing the huge crash when he hits the canvas.

The only good thing about this fight would be to see Valuev getting Pummeled, but if he doesn't accept the money he's being offered, **** him. If he tries to become the WBC mandatory he'll have to fight Arreola along the way probably, and he would get pummeled by him too. Actually that would be quite an interesting fight now that I think of it.

People might say what they want, Valuev (or Don King on his behalf) was wise no to take the fight up top now. Vitali has upped his former offer by 150 %. Damn, 150 ****ing % !!! Do you imagine ? Of course Vitali must make a lot more than 2.5, but he is the champ, and if it happens, it will be the last big fight of Valuev.

You clearly haven't looked at the WBC's rankings:

            Champion: Vitali Klitschko

            Contenders:

            1) Ray Austin
            2) Odlanier Solis
            3) Nikolay Valuev

Arreola isn't even in their top 15.

I think Valuev could easily beat Austin. Solis would be an interesting match. He has talent but hasn't yet been tested against a decent opponent, so it's impossible to say whether he's good enough to beat Valuev. Either way, I can see why Valuev thinks he has a good chance of winning an eliminator to be Vitali's mandatory.

Last time I saw, the rules dictate that the challenger gets 25% in a purse bid, so Vitali's team probably looks at that and says that he'll be getting more than he would if he did try that.

Valuev is ranked in pretty much every organization and still has a mandatory rematch against Haye coming up. I don't know if he loses his rematch with Haye if he loses before it. But it really doesn't make too much sense for him to do this.

****ing horrible division, hope these young heavyweights are good enough to start knocking off these old ****s.

Vitali should forget about Valuev, and move on to fight Boytsov or Solis.

Why them? IMO, Povetkin is a much more credible opponent than either of them.

Sure, but Povetkin is Wlad's mandatory so he's not available.

He wouldn't take a voluntary fight with Vitali, because he would have a larger purse share with his mandatory fight with Wlad.

David Haye would be the ideal opponent, but he's obviously not available either.
