Frank Warren should be less concerned about running the show and more concerned about making fights happen.
You see the thing is... Professional boxing is a business, it's prize fighting, and Ricky Hatton has spent Years and Years going to promotions and events to build up a fan base.

And he's done a damn good job of doing it! ... Vivian Harris is just a belt, and the 20,000 fans that buy tickets to watch a Ricky Hatton vs Vivian Harris fight are there because they're paying to see Ricky!

Vivian Harris isn't the No.1 at light-welterweight anyway... And he's done nothing to build his own fan base etc yet he want's the BIG $$$$$$$!!!!!!.... It doesn't work that way.

Kostya Tszyu is more than just a belt, and he's getting paid £4.5 million ($8.5 million) when he comes to Manchester in 17 days...

If Harris took a ridiculously low purse and fought and defeated Miguel Cotto then he could have commanded like at least 50% of any purse for future opponents ( namely Mayweather, Hatton, Tsyzu etc..)
However his unwarrented ego refuses to fight cheap and prove it. This leads us to believe the cold hard truth. Harris is blowing smoke in order to save face and would only fight a top guy if the danger money was enough for him to retire on should he lose.
This is not a 100% conifident fighter and being that he`s never beat anyone of much credit at world level i doubt he`d be able to beat them with this attitude.
    AGREED!

i am looking forward to this fight cause i wanna see how much Harris improved under Manny Stewart. If he learnt how to move properly and Does not have the balance problems(most big punchers do) he might be a huge test for anybody in the division.
Not like he is not a test right now.

        hmm

You see the thing is... Professional boxing is a business,
Problem is that business decision would have made much sense for Hatton and little sense for Vivian.

The true test with Harris is can you get him in the ring for less money than Oscar De La Hoya demands.
V Harris = Legend in his own mind....

I never liked Zab Judah after his temper tantrum in the ring after getting KO'd by Kostya Tszyu.

But since then he's kinda won my respect back... Because he fough Spinks II for $100,000 in Spink's hometown. He KNEW he could beat Spinks and gambled on it!

That takes courage and self-belief, and I say, "fair play to the guy".

Vivian Harris was offered 12X that amount to fight Ricky Hatton in Manchester and pulled out.

But the craziest thing is - Zab Judah was a MUCH bigger name than Vivian Harris before that anyway.

That's why Vivian Harris is gonna have to learn from his mistakes.
