The WBO didn't come into considerating until the 90's... And, in the 90's the WBO is what the IBO is now. The IBO belt has been around since the 90's but is really coming into consideration now. And, in 10yrs it would be a major belt... Chavez was already established and going down hill when he the WBO was in consideration as a major belt... Is like 10yrs from now some fighter has 8 tites in 8 weight-classes and 3 of them are in are the IBO and beats 20 world champions. Then they come out say hey he accomplished more than Oscar... But, Oscar was not prime when the IBO was a factor. And, when it became a factor Oscar was downhill... That is something that would have to be hold into consideration when you look at the accomplishments... The only fighter that fought in the WBO era that I mentioned and was still prime was Ricardo Lopez... And, the WBO was into consideration not even a major belt yet... The WBO belt became the major 4 belt early in 2000's... Just like how the IBO will become a major 5 belt in the next 10yrs even though is been around since the 90's...

Well you should he had trouble... If Oscar would of fought Tito in 97 or 98 Tito would of start campaigning at 154 right after cuz he had trouble making weight... The only reason Tito stayed at 147 for so long was cuz Norris lost and then just wanted to fight Oscar...

Dude how old are you? Were you not watching boxing in the 90's? Are you to young to remember that in the 90 everybody was treating the WBO belt as a joke? Same as we treat the IBO belt right now... Didn't the WBO belt become a major force in 2000?

Yes Finito retired before Chavez. What is your point? by 1994 he was already downhill, by 1997 he was just plain old, and 1999 he was just shot, and he still kept fighting. So what? Duran kept fighting until the mid 90's. But, Duran was done as a fighter. So I don't get the point to your question?

Yes Finito retired before Chavez. What is your point? Chavez was past his prime by 1992, by 1994 he was already downhill, by 1997 he was just plain old, and 1999 he was just shot, and he still kept fighting. So what? I'm old enough to know my ****. I don't consider myself the best knowledgeable boxing fan, but I know enough.
You seem to avoid my questions and expect me to answer yours. But I'll bite since you didn't provide me a link.
If I remember correctly the WBO became a force like around 93-95. Not exactly sure on the exact point. But it was around the time Chavez was considered unbeatable by many.
Chavez wasn't past his prime by 92.

to say chavez doesn't touch oscar is absurd.....when its all said and done chavez will always be remembered as the greater fighter as with duran but on to the subject i still have not seen you respond to what fighters oscar beat to catapult him in this high regard you have him in? whitaker? quartey who like oscar failed to win most of their major fights.....now as money wise and wbo-ba-bc-ibf belts held in different weight classes yes that will hold up for his ticket to HOF but it wont give him the consideration of greatest latino of all time.....even if you look at all the money yeah he's rich and was involved in the highest grossing fights in history but bottom line he lost all of them

Provide you a link of what? Hearns was the first WBO champ in like 89 or somewhere around there. The WBO was not a force in the 93-95... It was considered as a minor belt a joke of a belt... In the early 90's the WBO elected Torres to be president so it could have credibility he left in the mid 90's and the WBO belt was considered a joke. Then in the late 90's early 2000's the WBO moved up a dead fighter up in the rankings... The fighter was dead, not living, deceased, so obvious he was not fighting anyone and was still moving up the WBO rankings... The WBO was not considered a major belt... Until like 2002 it started really being on the level of the WBC, WBA, and the IBF

Who has said he's the greatest latino ever?? Oscar won a lot of big fights and the loses that he had weren't to just anyone. If he would of lost Vargas or Mayorga or Hernandez for example people would add them to the big fights list. Lot of haters use double standards when it comes to Oscar.

you have a point, i think the WBO established itself when at the same time cotto, margarito, guzman and juan diaz were all WBO champs.

may be off but a bit on the names.
