By Cliff Rold - It was news which led to laughs, annoyance, and hang-ups; a conclusion so foregone, most didn’t bother to tune in to HBO on February 11, 1990. Frantic phone dials moments after Sugar Ray Leonard’s astonished, “I..it’s over” came through the television speakers elicited reactions like: [Click Here To Read More]

One of the best pieces on my all time favorite fighter I've ever read on any forum. Very thorough and very accurate.

          That's a good one.

Just a question to Rold. Why did you Measure Mosley? where mosley is not yet retired?

James Toney i understand but Mosley's upcoming fight with PBF totally overwrites whatever you have written specially if Mosley wins.

Good article and I agree, even though it's hard to admit it.

While I personally feel that 'prime' Mike Tyson could be considered easy top 10 for all-time heavyweight talent, he certainly didn't have an all-time top 10 heavyweight career.

His was definitely a career that was defined by unfulfilled potential almost as much as what he was able to accomplish in such a short span.

Mosley was written before Margarito with an eye on where he would stand if he lost there and where he could go if he didn't. These aren't inherently retired guys.

Tyson in his heyday was one of the hardest punchers in HW history and displayed skills in defence with punching combination. The end of his career his power carried over but his overall skills were not there. He did look unbeatable at the early part of his career. Unfortunately he wasn't consistent on the second half of his career

Mike was trained in a punch point system by cus..and unbelivable head movement when he was very young even before he won his first HW title..mike had to b the most forocious fighter ever when he was very young and when cus was still living..but cus died and Tyson fired kevin Rooney the only guy who still had the knowlage to train mike in the pika boo style all that great talent was lost..no one could have trained mike other than cus or Rooney cus those was the two major trainers in his life..mike still had vicious power even after prison and later in his career but his other skills were diminished he had no speed and no head movement and didn't put his punches in combination...Tyson has to b put in the top 10 greatest HW of all time cuz of the acomplishments he had of lineal belts and defence's..mike was one the best if not the best talent the HW division had ever seen cuz he had god given physical abilitys that litteraly scare people but none of this was extended to the fullest cuz the death of his rainer cus in and out of jail and marriage and legal disputes but still mike was a golden age HW!!
