i have always been a big Kirk fan, his size and skill make him a great fighter, I think if he would have trained for the VK fight the out come would have been different. He has the ability to slip punches, coming in 270 lbs. there was no way he could dodge VK's shots. I still don't think he could beat Toney though. Would be a great fight. The only reason the score cards where so close with ruiz was because of the points he lost.

Kirk Johnson got KO'd in 2 by V.Klit. There's no way i think he could beat someone of Vitali's stature. I'm not sure about the rest of the HW devision though.

he's good good power and fast hands, but he showed a lack of ambition in the klitchko fight coming in out of shape, i think johnson has had his chances

If Johnson can settle his motivation/weight issues, you may have a point. He always seems to come in out of shape for the big bouts of his career and he has talent

He has no point, Kirk Johnson the second best heavyweight, on account of what...his wins over Ice Cole? I know the division is in bad shape but Kirk Johnson is as big of an underahciever as there is in the sport!

He has beaten no one, Ruiz who I hate has a resume that dwarfs Johnson's...if you are talking potential maybe but **** potnetial, the guy has already squandered it and hoping/dreaming that he will finally get into shape is pointless...

Trust me I have been hoping and dreaming that Iron Mike would get it together for the past decade and I have been an upset boy because of it.

            Kirk Johnson, 2nd best...**** that.

Johnson is a decent heavyweight believe it or not. He looked very impressive against Oleg Maskaev, who indeed does have a shaky chin, but is a dangerous fighter nonetheless. In his fight with Ruiz....I think he was robbed. The ref stopped the fight prematurely because of the low blows. He won almost every round and was making Ruiz look bad like he is. He does have talent...and is a bigger puncher than most people give him credit for.

Going into the Klitschko fight, I figured he was going to beat VK. He was easily the toughest opponent he had ever faced up untill that point, and I think is VK's most impressive victory as a heavyweight. He really made Kirk look bad. I think partly in due to Johnson's weight for the fight. He was at least 40 pounds overweight, and looked like he was hoola hooping tires around his middle.

An in-shape Johnson can give just about anyone in the division problems...because of his jab and semi-ellusivness. He is not necessarily fleet footed...but has a decent boxing style: that I would agree with.

2nd best heavyweight? Nope. Not even close. Wlad, Brewster, Rahman would all knock him out.

Due to Vitali's destruction of Johnson, I think Johnson has been unfairly discredited as a heavyweight contender. He has good wins over Nicholson, Donald, Maskaev, and he was just ducked by Boswell who for some reason was good enough to warrent McCline getting a title shot.
