Comments Thread For: If Ricky Hatton Was My Son, I'd Say Retire, Says Arum

Legendary US boxing promoter Bob Arum’s message to Ricky Hatton is brief but heartfelt. Nah stay active I wouldn't mind seeing Hatton KO'd again. Arum should have mentioned the UFC as an option for Hatton.

And if Ricky Hatton were with Top Rank you'd bleed him for every dollar possible...

          Shut up Bob.

Bull****, if he was with Arum he would milk him till he dies in that ring and if thats the case then tell Cotto to retire too he's taken more damage than Hatton.

Arum is a sleazy ****. He has no problem with Margarito fighting again but pretends to be concerned for the welfare of Hatton. Wanker. If Hatton was signed to him he would be milking him for every last cent he could get.

Would Arum tell Cotto to retire too?? I mean the man is been beaten with plaster for 11 rounds, He also had to go through a difficult fight is a "clean" manny Pacquiao, Not only that but he has fought most of the top fighters at WW which made him a bit worn out.

Arum wasnt soooo quick to tell Morales to retire when he was feeding him to Pacquiao and Morales had more weigh problems than Hatton.

I'm losing more and more respect for Bob with every passing day. I used to think he was a fairly nice guy, with an astute business sense but still having sound morals...but some of the absolute **** he has been coming out with lately has been ridiculous. He has shown himself to be a bitter man who won't hesitate to milk his fighters dry if it will benefit him financially. I mean how sad must it be to be a fighter promoted by Bob for a large part of your career and then see him practically turn his back on you and abuse you for the benefit of other Top Rank fighters? Where's his respect and loyalty? Wanker.
