I still dont get it. Kessler just lost 12-0 to Ward and Hopkins is still pushing 50 years old.
Hopkins beat Pavlik after Calzaghe beat him showing Hopkins is still up with the best. If Jones beats Hopkins he shows was still competitive late in his career when he fought Calzaghe. If Kessler beats Froch he demonstrates Froch isn't on Joe's level.
I'm not sure all this will happen, but I'll laugh if it does.
I've already predicted kessler takes froch out in 4 rounds. got a bet on it with earlhickey. froch is beyond tailor made for kessler. froch will be getting hit from the first bell at a high consistency. and ya cant do that with kessler unless your librado andrade.
if hopkins loses to a guy who just got laid out in 5 seconds vs danny green that would make calzaghe's gift decision over him that much worse. it wouldn't make his roy jones win any better cause everyone knows he is completly shot.
Kessler is expected to beat Froch. Kessler has already failed to meet expectations by getting rolled by Ward. Calzaghe's win over Kessler has lost a lot of its luster already.
If Jones beats Hopkins, or vice versa, I don't think it does much to Calzaghe's wins over either. Jones is shot to death already. If Hopkins wins, who didn't expect that? If Jones wins, then age has caught up with Hopkins (finally).
Kessler beating Froch doesn't make any difference to Calzaghe's resume. It doesn't change the fact that in his fight previous, he got totally outboxed for 11 rounds by a fighter he was supposed to beat.
Froch's style is very similar to Andrade's who is a fighter Kessler dominated a few years ago. Kessler is the favourite against Froch also.
Jones beating Hopkins means **** all either as Hopkins is 45. Hopkins could get old at anytime.
Jones is way past it as well, which was clear with his recent KO loss in 1 round against journeymen Danny Green.
Calzaghe is the man who spent twelve years in at SMW while the greats of his generation fought in other divisions and sought out challenges. He will always be remebered as the lesser man and nothing will ever change that.
