I read in The Sun paper (most likely not true) i think it was yesterday that Khan and Roach prefer Marquez and Maidana doesn't bring enough money or exposure to the table.

If there are a regular champion and an interim champion within the same weight category of the very same sanctioning body, they MUST fight each other to show the boxing world who is THE champion. That is all there is to it. Build the fight up? How silly! Let them fight each other and the one who emerge victorious will be a star.

Is Team Khan seriously that scared of Maidana? Roach said theres not enough money and Khan's debut in the US needs to be much bigger. But its like nobody in the U.S. other than the hardcore fans even know who Khan is. If your only as good as your last fight, then I don't see how fighting Marquez at this point in his career, old and coming off a loss at a weight in which he shouldn't be fighting at, proves anything. That fight doesn't need to be built. It needs to be made. Now.

I agree! Now, my question is the following. If he chooses to fight someone else as a warm-up fight, does he hold on to the title? I find this to be unfair since there are other fighters next in line that want to fight for this title. So, yeah..fight or just give up the damn belt! He is stalling and that **** is unfair for the fighters that are next inline. He needs to do one or the other: fight or vacate!

It's almost unheard of for a fighter to have to fight two mandatories in a row. The normal rules are that they only have to fight at least one mandatory a year. When Vitali Klitschko was told he had to fight two mandatories in a row he appealed against the decision and won the appeal. If Khan and Maidana fight one voluntary defence in March on the same card, and then fight each other in their next fight after that, there's no problem.

Sounds like Schaefer wants to protect Khan, I seen Khan get knocked out in less than a minute. Schaefer knows Khan has a glass chin, and Maidana hit pretty hard!!
