Comments Thread For: Rafael Marquez Hires Daniel Zaragoza as New Trainer

Featherweight Rafael Marquez has hired retired former world champion Daniel Zaragoza will be his new trainer. After spending a career under the guidance of manager/trainer Nacho Beristain, Marquez broke away last week. Marquez claimed Nacho was ignoring him in the gym and spending all of his time training older brother Juan Manuel. Zaragoza, a hall of famer, will be training Marquez for the fourth fight with Israel Vazquez on May 22. [Click Here To Read More]

i really don't blame Marquez, but seriously, Daniel Zaragoza? Did any of you see how bad he looked when training O DLH for the fight with Pacman? By the way, what a huge slap in the face for Nacho cause I thought Nacho and Zaragoza were a team? I wish him luck, but he picked the wrong people in my opinion.

I think nacho sees his money maker is with Juan, not rafa, but it does kind of suck when ur trainer that was there with u through out is no longer with u especially with one of the top 5 most anticipated fights coming up..hopefully there is no excuse if rafa loses.

I actually think its a good choice, Daniel is someone that Rafa respects and will work with comfortably, I think Rafa will remain the same in terms of his fighting style, Zaragosa wouldnt ask him to change, I think a newer more modern Trainer would have changed him.
also, this promotional team is good and will allow the good fights to happen.

It was Zaragoza doing the pads for Nacho. So i assume Nacho and Zaragosa are no longer a team?
