Comments Thread For: Tony Halme and Antoine Palatis Have Passed Away

Former Finnish heavyweight champ Tony Halme, age 47, was found dead this weekend. The reason for his death appears to be suicide. Halme compiled a 13-6 pro record from 1995 through 2002. He won and lost the national title a few times and also beat Iran Barkley for an obscure title. A giant of a man with a background as a wrestler and bodyguard in Hollywood. [Click Here To Read More]

Ludwig Borga was one of my favourite wrestlers.May his soul rest in peace.I never got the chance to see him as a fighter but as a wrestler it was always great watching his fights

Halme was not much of a boxer but he did keep the sport "alive" in this country when there were few boxers around who could. He was an entertainer and a character who was always controversial. I imagine the heavy alcohol/drug abuse during his later years finally got to him.

              Ah, that's a shame. :conf3:

Otherwise Halme was a waste of space, but he didn't have to go like that. Enpä voi muuta sanoo ku heippa sitten, Tony...
