I know they are only doing this for selfish, greedy reasons, but it is still justice if they give Funeka the title. He clearly beat Guzman, unbelievable robbery.

What do the powers that be have against Funeka anyway? I don't get it. Anyway, the robbery was just sick. Hope Ali has some good luck soon, he deserves it.

Funeka won that fight with ease, i was shocked by the decision.

Sanction fees were already collected from both fighters for the fight, so whatever the IBF does here it isnt about money.

Because it is a "judges decision" issue, and not a DQ or something peculiar, really all they can do is order an immediate rematch, which Guzman wont take. So Funeka would most likely fight Rolondo Reyes for the vacant title.

Other than that, theres not much they can do. Unlike other sanctioning bodies, the IBF does not make up "interim" champions to solve all their problems. The IBF only uses Interim Titles when the champion is unable to fight for an extended period of time due to injury.

So, what's the point of ordering an immediate rematch if they don't have to follow through? Or this a way to give the apportunity to the opponent who wants the rematch to fight someone else instead if the other opponent doesn't want the rematch?
I'm thinking that too...that even if Guzman wanted to get in the ring with him again GBP probably wouldn't allow him to, anyhow. They figured it would be too risky and they would loose big.
Anyhow, I see why they wouldn't overturn the decision. Because then when anything close happens everyone would want the same thing done and that would start a pattern that the IBF would not want to deal with. Anyhow, we'll see what happens.

i doubt they will give it to him,but i think a rematch will be made,but if they decide to give it to him,good,he won,nobody can say he was given the belt,he won it

i was going for guzman and i thought funeka won the fight. this guy is so tall with long arms. anybody @ 135 will have problems with him.if guzman wants to stay undefeated he better not fight him again.

Saw the replay on HBO, he definitely was robbed. It's unfortunate I mean the guy was going out there to prove he's one of the best and put forth a fight that beat the other man. In the words of Paulie Malignaggi "Boxing is full of ****!"

I hope this wakes up the delusional Guzman Supporters. I mean my athletic Supporter never lets me down but they were ridiculous.
